Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro may have hit the FCC

Actually, upon thinking about it some more, I've changed my mind about the usability of the "heavy tablet / hybrid " category.

Just imagine sitting on the sofa with a two pound + touch device on your lap.
You'll see that you need a proper angle of interaction with the screen, without supporting it with your hands (because of the weight ).
How do you achieve that?
With a kick stand!
It just needs to be thicker and comfortable.

Such device with a high end specs would be an absolute laptop killer..
The significance of keyboard is overrated and manufacturers should just go for the detachable solution instead of doing stunts like Dell XPS 12 or Sony Vaio Duo 11.

This..

..is a much better idea imo, but needs to streamline that keyboard into something much flatter.
My point - surface pro has a really usable concept, just needs to make that kickstand lap-friendly.
With high end specs, such device would absolutely kill the laptop as we know it, in every way.
