A week after the international version of HTC's Windows Phone 8X began receiving an update codenamed "Portico," it appears that the T-Mobile flavor of the device is set to receive the same bump. A T-Mobile support page has revealed that the the update for its 8X will bring the device to OS version 8.0.10211.204 (firmware version 1532.20.20004.531) and will include an assortment of bug fixes. The issues that'll be addressed relate to Bluetooth, devices rebooting and an bug that incorrectly sends users to a tethering upsell page while browsing the Internet.

HTC has confirmed to Phone Scoop that this is the Portico update for Magenta's 8X. When it rolled out to the global 8X last week, Portico brought with it a tweak to keep a phone connected to Wi-Fi after its screen times out, the option to reject a phone call and respond with a text message and the ability to mass select text messages for easier deletion.

T-Mobile says that this update will be rolling out to 8X units over the air, though users can also snag it manually by heading into Settings > Phone Update > Check for Updates on their devices.  T-Mo says that the update will be released on Dec. 19, aka tomorrow, but HTC has said that it's started rolling out today, so it may be worth your time to check for the new software if you've got a T-Mobile-branded 8X laying around. Be sure to let us know when your 8X finally gets its own taste of Portico!

Windows Phone 8 software update rolling out to the HTC 8X

Yeah the Lumia 920 has better maps, it's got office built in. Camera is an upgrade, and it's got free music streaming with Nokia Music or whatever it's called. There are Drawbacks though, the App Store is not as populated, and you'll end up using alternatives to apps your already invested in. There's no official Pandora App, Instagram, and some others. I'd suggest going to WindowsPhone.com and seeing if it has apps you'd want. But don't let app support turn you off the Lumia 920 has a more durable body (you wont need a case) and it's got an excellent camera and offline maps that won't get you lost in the wilderness. Wow I wrote a lot....hope it helps!

FM Radio support coming to Windows Phone 8 via software update?

WP8 is getting better day by day. The portico update that just has started seeding brought some minor bug fixes and little enhancements in usability, eliminated the random restart bug. Apollo+ will be, as it seems a 'major' update. I guess FM radio, BT4.0, notification center are on their way.

In addition to this the developers and nokia are adding useful apps everyday. VLC is coming to wp, whatsapp is also coming. WP8 has brought memory extension support, multicore, native code, directx. Social network integration is top notch. OS works flawlessly.

I see WP8 as a successful OS in very near future.

PS: WP haters don't start badmouthing. Go throw tomatoes on MS headquarters in Redmond if you hate that much. And USE YOUR HEADS.
